Story behind the song
Possibly (lyrically) the most embarrassing song ever written. Basically, I was trying to get with a girl and so I wrote a song, tried to make it as ‘poppy’ as possible, for her, and it worked… Happy days really.
Lyrics
Oh, baby since I walked away, All I can do is wish I stayed, Another hour lying in your arms, Could not have done any harm. And, I’ve been thinking about the things that I’ve said, And, you could have been my girlfriend, But, you’re somewhere else instead. So now, I am sitting here, In my room, Writing another song for you. When you are gone, it is always raining, When you are gone, it always pours down. There is a burning deep inside of me, But, I push it down so that no one can see, I look up at the stars, look at the sky, And (oh my God) I wish I could die. I’ve been praying for a rainy day, So I can talk to you, I’ve got soo much to say But now, I am sitting here, In my room, Writing another song for you. When you are gone, it is always raining, When you are gone, it always pours down. Now I’m sitting here in my room, Writing another song for you.
