RETRO pop songs --- from another millennium and another galaxy.
My name's Pete. from Birmingham in UK-land. Nice to meet you ! I made a lot of very varied popsongs in the pre-digital age. I say they're McCartneyish, as I don't know how to categorize them. Allsorts. The description I use is RETRO I'm really a songwriter who wants others to perform these songs. So please bear that in mind as you grimace at my efforts to be acceptable. I'm especially concerned to write good lyrics, and if you do ever give some time to my stuff, I hope you will click to the lyrics and read those also. They don't come easy, you know. I'm plonking my songs here to give them a home, in the hope you might think they're not too bad. In fact, in the hope that you'll snap them up and I'll become an instant overnight megastar multi-millionaire. But failing that, I hope that you just like them. And if you do like one - I'd especially like it if you told me so. We all need strokes, eh ? Cheers ! Pete Songs-in-a-Bottle

Story behind the song
originally this was going to be tongue-in-cheek, apparently praising pollution etc. but in the end I'm happy I went for the sincere and simple.
Lyrics
I see trees standing proud and serene and it's not at all far-fetched to believe they are trying to reach to the miracle there with their branches outstretched there's the sound of a heavenly call floating down from way on high and birds are winging and singing their songs in reply well, for want of a word, how beautiful the sky an array of splendiferous colours a pageant to behold a display blending grapefruity pink lemon lime, purple grape, berry blue and peach gold there are clouds of all sizes and shapes drifting idly by and by swinging in line there are rainclouds hung out there to dry well, for want of a word how beautiful the sky in what ways beauty clutches and clings and to gaze on such wonderful things my heart sings there's a sound from that painting above and its music makes me cry joy so intense that my heart simply must heave a sigh well, for want of a word, how beautiful the sky all around symphonies in my ear magic sounds of sweet music I hear loud and clear in the night there's a silvery moon in a halo ring on high one million diamonds all clustered around wink their eye well, for want of a word, how beautiful the sky
