Trash-pop, guitar rock and melodic miscellany.
Not so much a band as a bloke with a guitar and a laptop, The Smivets deliver a genre-bending blend of pop, rock, punk, prog and many other monosyllables.

Story behind the song
This started out as a jam and sort of grew.
Lyrics
We are cursed to live in interesting times With expectations of success Hopelessy misguided by corrupted paradigms, And progress is just clearing up the mess. What we call progress is really just clearing up the mess. The colonel smiled as he raised the bottle to his lips: "I think I've seen your sort before. I weary of nurturing relationships - That's what I keep the pitbulls for." "That's what I keep these pitbulls for!" Three steps forward two steps back The thin veneer begins to crack You only lose if you attack. Take my hand and we'll start to climb Though it'd be easier to stay behind, They can't stop all of us this time. Like in 1861 They took a decision that affected everyone Though it's been 150 years They're still my tears. I caught a glimpse of bright and bloody teeth Past the edges of his mask. Only scratch the surface to see the savage beast beneath, But what of the rest of us, you ask? What about the rest of us?

Fabulous guitar intro section, nice 'Fender Rhodes', 'Hammond organ' great lyrics and vocals. This is a great catchy song. What a neat arrangement and very professional production. Your guitar solo at the close is stunning. What a great sound. This ought to be on the radio. Clapton etc, eat your hearts out.

Great guitar solo at the start there! Brilliant lyrics, top notch writing. I love the arrangement, the light and shade, loud/soft phrases and the way it picks up further when the choir comes in. Absolutely fantastic job all round.
