Story behind the song
I wrote this song the summer before my junior year in high school. Since the fourth grade I had been madly in love with a girl named Heather Brown. We werent very good friends, she said hi to me a few times, until high school. See my last name is Brewer hers is Brown soooooooo we ended up haveing a locker right next to each other. We went to the same church and were in the same high school youth group, and we actually started a really great friendship, one of the best i have ever had. BUT, I was still madly in love with her. I tried and tried all through high school to get her to go out with me, I helped her when she was all depressed when her boyfriends borke up with her, but she would never consider me. Well in high school I was all up on the punk rawk musak. I was a skater and a punk and all those sorts. SHE WAS NOT!!!! So I formed this band called "Best Sale Ever" we were pretty rockin. We were one of the most popular local bands in our area. So i was sitting at work in july before i was a junior. By now me and Heather had a really great friendship and i was desperatly straining to make it more. I thought of my undying love for her and hammered out these lyrics on a napken. In a desparate attempt to win her heart i invited her to a concert my band was to do at the local youth center. This is where i would unveil my tribute song to her and we would fall desperatly in love, well at least that was the plan. Well she never showed up to the concert and as far as I know has never heard this song, excpet for one day at church when i was sitting around with an acoustic guitar and clanged out (i couldnt really play guitar then i played bass) the most wretched acoustic version of, what was then titled "The Heather Song" So this is youre typical high school i wish you would love me song.
