Story behind the song
Well, i was really depressed (doesnt every good song story start out like that). I was reading my bible and i stumbled upon this passage: Psalms 10:1. And that is were i got the chorus of the song. Basically i was trying to express the idea that every christian goes through valleys in there life, the one i was in when writting this song is kinda hard to explain. But we all go through them. And some christians think "Oh well i HAVE to be happy ALL the time no matter what". That is a freakin lie. Jesus wasnt happy all the time when he was mad at the money changers in the temple he showed it my tearing the place up, when he was depressed about knowing that he was gonna be crucified he expressed it to God. "Father if it is possible let this cup pass from my hands." IT IS OK TO DISSAGREE WITH GOD, AND IT IS OK TO EXPRESS THAT DISSAGREEMENT!!!!!!!!! The realization we have to come to is the one that David came to in psalm 10 (if its not psalm 10 then its 11). David says "where are you o God. Why do you hide in times of trouble" he is asking God why he is evident in the good times but not in the bad. But he then comes to the realization that God is there in the bad times, it is us who turn our backs. No we dont have to be happy all the time, we can be ticked off at God and at situations, the goal is to not turn youre back on him. Look up and see the Lord Jesus standing at the right hand of God. And if you need to get out some anger DO IT!!! And thats what i did in this song. it expresses that at one point i had lost a lot of faith and couldnt see God cause i had turned my back to him. But then at the end of the song i realize that things arent gonna stay this way things will get better.
