Story behind the song
I was a sr. in h.s. and had been a Christian for about 3 years. I was in my infancy as a Christian, musician, and songwriter. One day I sat at the piano and wrote, in the simplest terms, how to be born again.
In college, the music minister at the church I went to suggested changing "make it free" to "make you free" or "set you free" in the chorus. Of course he was right, but I refused to because I didn't want any help with my writing. Looking back, it's sad and silly how selfish I was.
This version was recorded on a multitrack recorder after I'd graduated college. I'm doing piano and all the vocals. Thanks go to Lyndel Littleton for his contribution on violin.
