For over 40 years I played lead guitar and did back-up vocals in various country bands. It has been one of the greatest thrills of my life. But, these days I stay at home and compose songs, both lyrics and music. My writing style is much broader than just country music. I also write southern rock, a little blues, lots of smooth jazz and movie themes and even some latin music. I have been writing for about 20 years and hope to for quite a few more years.

Lyrics
Face To Face (V1) She lies next to me, safe in her sleep I stare in the dark, guilt cutting deep She doesn’t know, and I haven’t said The truth taunting me, as I lie in this bed (V2) Eyes that won’t close, so I’m walking the floor Light up a Camel, at quarter till four Hide in the bathroom, but the guilt follows me I stare in the mirror, don’t like what I see (Chorus) Face to face with a cheater One on one with a lie Face to face with a cheater One on one eye to eye Face to face with a damned fool One on one with myself Face to face with a cheater Wishing I was somebody else (V3) The first time for me, but is it the last Not my intention, but it happened so fast Searching for answers, I look in the glass The face staring back, is the one I must ask (Bridge) Looking at the man I don’t want to be Wishing somehow that man wasn’t me Repeat Chorus © 2009, Alan D.
