Hi, my name is Julie Chow, and I am a singer-songwriter who is currently based in San Francisco, California. I have released four self-produced albums: When Desires Collide (in 2001), The Stars Shine Bright Tonight (in 2002), Momentarily Disreplaced (in 2003) and Wheel of Fortune (Narcissus & the Echo) (2004). I occasionally songwrite with another musician called . You can hear our music at . We've done some live shows around Davis in the Spring of 2004. I've also collaborated on a couple tracks with . Story behind the song
A quick-and-dirty pop song about recognizing love when it is too late - essentially written from the point of view of a person who is perhaps, afraid to love. During this point in the relationship, one person has walked away from the other, perhaps after being told that their feelings are unrequited. Written in the same vein as "Ballad Of The One Unknown,", "King Of My World" captures the portrait of the discarded other when they realize that they might have been denying their feelings all along. On the other hand, they might have known their feelings, but were too proud to acknowlege them. Whatever the scenario, they have pretty much already lost in the game of who-woos-who. This song is kind of like a stab in the dark, a final attempt from the person to win back their former flame.
