In the early '90s, Angels of the Himalayas appeared on the alternative rock college circuit, originating out of Milwaukee, WI. The group played live intensively from 1989 to 1992, beginning at small clubs and eventually appearing ahead of the likes of The BoDeans and Los Lobos. The band's sound was at once grunge, country and rock -- a signal flare of things to come in the mid- and late-90s, such as Goo Goo Dolls, Wilco, Dave Matthews and other benders of the folk, pop and punk genres that make "alt rock" as it is termed today. The Angels disbanded by 1992. About 16 unreleased recordings, demos and live tracks have been saved into digital format. The band recorded five of the songs at Firebird Studios in 1990.
