Ambiguity
Living in suburbia at the edge of a lake
Never seen the real world they seem to be too afraid
Pictures hanging on a wall in shiny new frames
Hiding their real feeling is a happy smile on their face
If you asked them how they were they'd probably lie
With a smile and a nod they'd say "Oh we're fine"
The pictures are in boxes, the wall is bare and cold
Spoiled memories in their minds, this house was getting old, it's sold
Now the kids are off to college, the parents are so proud
Father's unfaithful to his wife, they aren't so perfect now
It's not right and it's not wrong, it's just the way things are
Maybe it sucks, yeah it does, but real life's not far away
