Story behind the song
I basically put together the concept of "making a joyful noise" in the Psalms with Jesus' words in Luke 19 when he challenged the Pharisees who were upset that people were glorifying Him. He said that if people didn't praise Him, the "rocks would cry out". I find that a beautiful and convicting set of images. We need to be proud to be Christians and be "loud and proud" about it.
