Story behind the song

I was writing tunes for my first Nashville recording session - I wanted to write - honestly a "cliche" sad country song about a trucker.

I wrote it and performed it - my mentor Bucky Barrett produced it in 1994.

Sometimes life's confusing - when you're all night driving truck loads - and it seems life's got noplace left to go.
Coz the kids are gone and the wife is too. She said she got tired of you and it seems like you've got nothing to go on.
