American Greed

Greed seems to drive far too many aspects of American life.
Artist picture
raw ragged garage rock with brilliant lyrics
A dusty left handed axe strangler cranking out raw ragged riffs from the prairie of Nebraska. Even the tornadoes run from mournful wailing of his tortured guitar. And that voice - it can bring down a hawk from 300 yards.

Story behind the song
The whole economic mess was foreseeable to anyone with a shred of intellect. Bloated idiotic bonuses for incompetent greed driven execs, huge houses and and endless material junk bought on credit. Absolutely no vision in the auto industry, etc.
Lyrics
Money! Money! Money! Using money, losin' money, your money! Cuz I'm the CEO of a gigantic bank I'm the one that the country can thank for your vanished job, no IRA your worthless home and the bills you can't pay "It's just business!", that's my creed anything to justify my endless greed It doesn't matter if I earned it or not! I'll get my bonus and you'll get squat! I'll retire, you're left in the lurch so pray to your God next time you're in church. I'm sure he'll help you, maybe answer your prayers and when he doesn't, who cares!? For 8 long years we had it crummy our president was a ventriloquist dummy Year after year in a useless war the economy sank while the oil profits soar Your average moron buys a house that's too big with a mortgage that swells like a prize winning pig A gas guzzling SUV is a must Then what a surprise! The US auto makers go bust Doesn't matter if you can afford it or not, you've gotta have what everyone else has got Spend every penny, then borrow some more What do you think credit cards are for?? Forget about saving, buy a giant TV and a new iPhone so you can twitter me!

I love this! Great lyrics...they all saw this coming - it just suited them to pretend they didn't. Isn't it nice the way they took risks with other people's money/lives...then walked away with a bonus for doing it while their victims were left to starve. Then there was the gullible public who kept living beyond their means...lol, don't get me started! :D Fantastic song.
