liberal ranting and raving, but sensitive explorations of the current American malaise
Good Without One was a drummerless and mercifully leaderless rock trio performing off the track and often humorous, often political originals and originally arranged covers. The players are George Potor, guitar and vocals, Joe DeCristopher, guitar and vocals, and Rick Totten, bass and vocals. These folks have played together in different contexts for decades, but only as this particular trio from 2003 - 2008. While the level of musicianship is high, their disdain for the trappings of rock stardom is legendary. Two of the members even remained seated throughout performances, despite no obvious physical impairments. Their drummerless approach was a novel but occasionally successful scam to get electric instruments into acoustic venues.

Lyrics
1 You send the IRS your Dubya-Two And they’ll send you a cheque just for being U. That’s ‘U’ for way ‘up’ in the upper class; One point six trillion in cash. Now we’re drillin’ for oil in the Arctic North; Never mind the pollution, we’ll ship it to the poor. Help to spread enough disease, some of each and every kind ‘Til we’re sure that No Child has been Left Behind. CHORUS: Less scratch, more itch, You need a tax cut if you’re rich, Less scratch. Let’s count real high; Let’s try to count real high. Two per cent of fifty mill; Do the Math, execute your will. 2 We’re feeding the homeless with a missionary zeal Provided they pray to the Saints as they kneel. Vouchers’ll save all those kids that are lost; We’ll teach ‘em ‘bout Jesus and the Pentacost. If the missles miss, then we’re made safe From the hits that hit where the missles ain’t. When we need a test, there’s always Death Row; Eliminate the Death Tax; we’re ready to go. Less scratch, more itch, You need a tax cut if you’re rich 3 Phone in your order with the Federal Reserve; They’ve got the interest if you’ve got the nerve. The lower the income the deeper the Debt; We’re bombing Iraq to help you forget. We’re bound to enjoy the retiring Court Swinging to the right to stop the right to abort. Bombing a clinic’s protecting free speech Unless it’s in Kabul; then it’s for peace CHORUS: Less scratch, more itch, You need a tax cut if you’re rich, Less scratch. Let’s count real high; Let’s try to count real high. Two per cent of fifty mill; Do the Math, execute your will. Let’s count real high; Let’s try to count real high.
