Hello I'm Zan The Man. Many years ago I recorded some songs on a

stero reel to reel tape recorder, and the results were not that great.

When the old recorder broke I could't find anyone to work on it so I

quit recording and ultimately quit playing. I was a disc jockey during

this period of time playing music on the air and recording my own

music at home in secret. My recorded music was only shared with a

few close friends and family. Many years later when computers came

to the station I was working at, I was not happy about that. I didn't

know a thing about computers, and could care less. When I learned

how to use a wave editor I began to see all the advantages of digital

recording and editing, and how much easier it was. Over time national

radio shows and computer automation made me decide to get out of

radio. My live, on the air, radio show was in effect over. I guess I

still have the urge to put my voice out there so to speak. That may be

why I got my own computer with recording software so I could record

songs again. I've gone from putting commercials on the radio, to songs

on the internet. My songs were recorded back in 2007. When

these songs are gone I'll decide then whether to record more or

not. Thanks so much for the fans and support I've picked up

along the way.

Story behind the song

I worked with a woman that is not in charge of 
anything, but she acts like she is. She would 
fuss at me over anything and everything. I
get the job done, but I don't do it exactly the 
way she would. I was having a bad day, and 
here she comes fussing at me, up one end and 
down the other over something I did.  I didn't
even remember the incident that she was fussing
about.  She had her say, and stormed off in a 
mad huff.  I was mad by then and said to another
employee, "That woman's got Mad Cow Disease."
The other employee runs off to the back to tell
everyone what I'd said. It was at this point that I
thought, "OH NO, I'm in trouble now." Thats what
happens most of the time when I say something
when I'm mad. The next thing I know, I hear 
roars of laughter, from other employees in the 
back. I guess they thought it was a pretty good
description. To make a long story short.  I wrote
"MAD COW DISEASE" about an ole boy that 
just can't seem to do anything right, no matter 
how hard he tries. I have felt like that in real 
life many times. We all have. In spite of it all 
we liked each other and I think everyone knew
we did. We were able to tell each other the 
like it or not truth and that was still O.K.  She is 
with the Lord now, but I think we all learned 
a lot from her. I know I did. She will be missed.

Wow, this really did make me chuckle. There's so many comedy songs where the title outstrips the content but this was the other way. What a catchy, heart warming and yet utterly disturbing song! Bravo!
