HARD ROCK BAND THAT BLENDS HEAVY BRITISH AND SOUTHERN ROCK styleS. TOUR DATES INCLUDE GIGS WITH AC/DC, DERRINGER, PAT TRAVERS BAND...AND WERE CONSIDERED AS
AVALANCHE is defined by Webster's as: "an unstoppable natural force"...and this all-original rock band certainly seems to fit that definition...overcoming the odds to produce some of the very best original hard rock anywhere! With an unorthodox strategy for success in 1978 (which included 18 months of intense rehearsals, their own record label, $75,000.00 worth of state-of-the-art stage gear, and a record on over a dozen New England radio stations for three months...all before ever playing a live gig) AVALANCHE's debut show was attended by over 3500 people..and the band was immediately playing to sold-out shows and standing room only crowds wherever they appeared. Within a month after their first gig, AVALANCHE was headlining in large club venues, and shortly after that, the band was opening tour dates and sharing concert stages on AC/DC's "Highway To Hell" tour, as well as with DERRINGER, and THE PAT TRAVERS BAND. They were also considered as a tour opener for TOTO's First U.S. Tour. A tight and well rehearsed rock-n-roll machine...this band did whatever was necessary to bring studio-quality hard rock to the live-concert stage...and they did it without the support of a major record label. Now recording again, with all the surviving members of the original lineup...here is the first new AVALANCHE music in over twenty years...as well as some of their old music too, (most of the recordings have never been available before). AVALANCHE continues to defy the odds with their staying power and persistence...and by remaining "unstoppable"...they are here NOW....for you to sample and enjoy! Story behind the song
TRUST THE QUIET VOICE COPYRIGHT 2009 by Crystal Magic Music Publishing (ASCAP) Arranged and Produced and Mixed by: Michael Foster. Recording Engineered by: Mark Easton Recorded July 2 - July 5, 2009 at ROUGH CUT STUDIO...Eastford, Conn. Mixed in September, 2009 at GOLDEN SUN STUDIO...North Palm Beach, Florida. Mastered by David Pendragon at THE STUDIO in Canberra, Australia. MUSIC BY: Michael Foster and Mark Easton. LYRICS: Michael Foster. Michael Foster: Electric Guitar (LEFT), Guitar Harmony, All Acoustic Guitars, Lead Vocal. Mark Easton: Electric Guitar (RIGHT) Guitar Harmony, Harmony Vocal, Outro Solo. Barry Easton: Drums. Michael Corsini: Bass This song was a real challenge to write and arrange. When we began the June 2009 sessions...we really walked into the studio with no prepared material. Whenever that happens...we end up playing as a group...until some ideas come. This song ended up being very different from the original music we came up with early on when we were trying some of those ideas, because once we had the music from the intial rehearsals recorded, and I started to try to write the lyrics and searched for the right melody to sing with the existing music...it became obvious to me that it wasn't working. So I spent the better part of a weekend alone...rewriting the music for the chorus sections that just weren't working...and that was also when I came up with the acoustic guitar interlude...midway through the song. Once I had re-written the chords for the chorus...things fell into place very quickly...and the lyrics were the next thing that needed to get done. That part came a bit easier...partly because the chord pattern lent it self nicely to a chorus...but also because I knew what I wanted to say on this one. This is a subject I have wanted to write about for a long time. The corporate control of all news...and the way TV is used as a distraction to keep the masses preoccupied...and disinterested in the really important matters concerning the quality of life on this planet..is no accident...it is a carefully constructed method of population control...and it leaves our corporate masters to dictate life...on every level...because the public is too distracted or apathetic to pay attention to what is happening all around them...while they obsess on Monday Night Football...or whether or not Britney Spears wore panties last night. After the election of Obama as the new U.S. President...I actually though there was a real chance for change in America...and therefore, the whole world...because our government's policies have such a profound effect on policy everywhere else. But it didn't take long to realize that TV news immediately began to focus on petty isssues and divisiveness...just as it had before the election...and hope for change turned into the realization that people were now either back to their apathy...or if they WERE involved in things...it was because they were believing and acting on complete fabrications and misinformation...as if it were the truth. What really has to change is....US. We need to remember what it was like to think for ourselves. We have become so lazy and distracted that we settle for allowing TV "journalists" and pundits to tell us what is going on...even though what they tell us, often directly contradicts what we may have just seen with our own eyes...or heard with our own ears. What results from that...is people reacting irrationally out of fear...from information that often has no basis in fact...or contradicts what we can clearly see...if we are just willing to take the time to look around us and pay attention...and/ or further investigate ALL the facts. We are like mindless sheep...being led to slaughter...or down a corporate constructed route where we are told that we should all be happy...as we continue to lose all the things that make quality of life possible. People are actually in the streets...protesting again

TRUST THE QUIET VOICE LYRICS BY: Michael Foster VERSE #1 Everyone is looking for an answer... Everyone just wants to hear some truth... I see the darkness growing like a cancer.... The "change" we need ain't in the voting booth... Corporations write the evening news... They bait and they switch...keep us all confused... They rig the game so that we all lose... They smile and they wink as they turn their screws... They feed us scandals, drugs, and booze... They keep us blind...as they grip their noose... It's information I can't use... But we all get to choose... CHORUS We can lead...or we can follow... In the end...we all decide... (#2...We can run....but we can't hide) If you're looking for an answer.... (#2...When you think about tomorrow) Trust the quiet voice inside... Let your conscience be your guide... Trust the quiet voice inside... INSTRUMENTAL ACOUSTIC BREAKDOWN VERSE #2 Everyone just wants some understanding... Everyone just wants some peace of mind... But in a world that's selfish and demanding... It gets so easy to stay cold and blind... We follow the crowd...and we act like sheep... TV noise keeps us all asleep... The price we pay...is way too steep... 'Cause we can't use what we don't keep... We can go along on the road we're on... But if we do...it won't be long... 'Til everything we know is gone... It's time we all decide... CHORUS #2 INSTRUMENTAL SOLO END.

This is a great song about the political condition today!. ..
Mike, my pleasure! Pleasure concerning, creativity, style, composition, arrangement, vocals, words. Masterful left- right concept (panning) with the guitars. Wonderful embedded vocals, just as it should be: The vocals are in and never above, yet you understand every word. The acoustic bridge is fascinating and doesn?t come as a break at all. Wonderful tone for all instruments including bass and drums. This is definitely the GOOD STUFF! You say (sing): We can lead...or we can follow... In the end...we all decide... (#2...We can run....but we can't hide) If you're looking for an answer.... (#2...When you think about tomorrow) Trust the quiet voice inside... And Mike, yes, there is a point beyond rhetorics, and that?s the place of the quiet voice. I hear it and I can hear you here. I do see that there?s a lot of confusion and a lot of sadness after only some months of change. And in many ways it is just as you say: Corporate leadership means fascism. V

What a rockin call to political action! The dual guitars pack all the punch they usually do, and the acoustics are a nice added touch that takes it down for a moment. It's also great to hear a song that works so hard on getting the rhythm guitars and riffs right, rather than as a showcase for a guitar solo - even the solo bit seems to defer to all the grooving going on! Awesome stuff!
