Lake Fork Verne and his banjo. Original country and Americana songs. Songs of yesteryear, growing up during the great depression 1930's and the way things are
Just me and my banjo...writing and singing about how things used to be long ago in the 30;s and 40's and how those experiences affect today. I started out wanting to get on record these stories and songs for my grandchildren; but after doing it for a while, others have expresses interest so we are recording and putting them out there.

Lyrics
Hope Copyrighted by: Verne Garrison Sept 29, 2009; Valley Park, Mo Banjo tuned E, Key of D, capo 2 Slow to moderate tempo Hope Is it hope that you can count on? Or is it hope unclear The kind of hope found in 1st Peter Or the hope offered by those pushing fear? The kind of hope I'm talking about Was put forth by The Great Communicator The shining city on the hill Not the kind in today's White House theatre The hope created in the land of the free Endowed by our Creator, Penned by our Forefathers in 1783 Not the kind espoused by today's Agitator Yes, the kind of hope important to me today Is based on past performances-granting Liberty Not the kind offered by the One with zero resume' With so much face-time, he has become a bore to me The kind of hope, that I am looking for Is based on past performances granting Liberty Penned by our Forefathers in 1783
