It's been called "a Kinkish ode" by a record reviewer. There is a similarity with the Kinks' "Sunny Afternnon."

Very versatile, from sensitive ballads to high energy rockin' that has no equal. Loves his audience, which is why his audience loves him.
At the moment, my band is me. I've founded some awesome bands in the past: Benn Gunn, Eightballs, and Homemade Jam (HMJ). But let's just at this time call it Dynamic Productions, which is me.

Story behind the song
Based on actual experiences at the Hotel Briyant, on Broadway just north of the Ed Sullivan Theater in NYC. "Fossils" refers to old men passing out on seedy couches in the hotel lobby; "elevator vacation" because the elevator was often non-operational; the "Harlequin Harem" with "hours for sale" refers to the hookers. It was quite a scene.

BRYANT HOTEL Words & music by Tom Feher / Tom Fair © 1967 / 2006 Bryant Hotel, cardboard ceilings and mayhem; Nobody cares. Hours for sale; Broadway harlequin harem, Foot of the stairs. Midsummer hell: sink-down sofa, seat shabby, Fifty-cent wine. Ita€™s a sunny day, But through your window all the world looks grey; A month of dear belated bills to pay, but thata€™s okay a€“ They never had it so well at the Bryant Hotela€¦ Bryant Hotel, elevator vacation: Hourly ride. Telephone call: Find another location, Credit denied! But through your window all the world looks grey; The cleaning lady didna€™t show today, or so they say, But then you never can tella€¦ At the Bryant Hotela€¦ At the Bryant Hotela€¦ At the Bryant Hotela€¦
