Story behind the song
I love the Deftones, and i wanted to write a song that was heavy, yet passionate, so the music was totally deftones influenced. As for the lyrics, i will have to let the singer elaborate.
Singer elaborating:
The lyrics for this song definitely come from the struggle of dealing with my biological father. Even though he wasn't too smart or well liked I still loved him because he was my father. He left when I was ten. Never really called, sent a birthday card, or anything. He calls now that I'm grown, but I still have the feelings of emptyness and loneliness on the inside that spring from the almost ten years of his silence. The lyrics were born from these feelings.
