Story behind the song
Lots of people are moving these days. Some because they want to...others because of divorce, forclosure, job relocation...you name it. We tend to forget all the little things that happen at the places we have lived....too bad we cant bubble wrap all these menories and take them with us. Take some time and think about all the places you have lived and try to remember something that you have forgot. Unwrap that memory and enjoy it....memories are all we have. The future is just a place where we will make new memories!
Lyrics
Bubble Wrap (Words and music by Larry Pless c 2009) She found the last thing she wanted to take... and tossed it in a cardboard box She dragged it to the front door and carried it out to the moving van She took a last walk around through the empty rooms they were cold, dark and quiet now and they felt just like tombs ... felt just like tombs she walked back down the hallway.. where her little kids once ran off to bed she passed back by the living room but now the echos of the laughter were dead She looked out the kitchen window at the un-cut yard She saw the little play ground.. where the kids had played so hard…and she said… how do you bubble wrap…all these memories...that you cant pack up And how do… you move away…from these broken dreams when you cant stay .. The truth is friend.. you have to leave it all behind in the end.. so wrap your favorite memories in bubble wrap …and walk away She dropped the keys on the counter, walked out and locked up the old front door She looked down at the flowers she wouldn’t have to water any more She was all packed up and ready to go But there was just one more thing left she needed to know… how do you bubble wrap…all these memories...that you cant pack up And how do… you move away…from these broken dreams when you cant stay .. The truth is friend.. you have to leave it all behind in the end.. so wrap your favorite memories in bubble wrap …and walk away (F) and some day they’ll all(C)be (G)there These (F)memories you hold so (C)dear They’ll (F)follow you through all your (Em)days Just the (Am7)way you packed them (D)away…but how do you bubble wrap…all these memories...that you cant pack up And how do… you move away…from these broken dreams when you cant stay .. The truth is friend.. you have to leave it all behind in the end.. so wrap your favorite memories in bubble wrap …and walk away
