Do Not Be Afraid (sax and bells)

The angel said, "Do not be afraid" to the shepherds near Bethlehem. Nowadays, in another way, this message is appropriate. The encouragement, now and then, is that there is good news to share.

Many genres, Contemporary Christian, Lyrics, instrumentals
I write my own songs ;) I have a very diverse taste in music, from Pop to Classical, including Rock, Folk, Jazz, Country, World Music (Celtic, Romanian), Old Timey Stringband/Bluegrass, and Latin. All these styles are in my Christian Contemporary catagory. I usually write the music first, and then put words to the music. Though I don't sing good enough yet, I though I would put my instrumentals out along with my music. Generally, I think my music/lyrics are getting better, being more skilled now than when I started.

Story behind the song
The song took about a week to write. I think it sounds Christmasy. http://postadavisongs.50webs.com/DoNotBeAfraid.html
Lyrics
Do Not Be Afraid Once near Bethlehem at night Shepherds saw an angel or'e the field They were scared at such a sight But the angel in the sky revealed And He said - Chorus: Do not be afraid I bring you good news of great joy. There's a Savior born to you. All praise to God on high. And this will be a sign to you: There is a baby wrapped in cloths In a manger like a bed. This baby is the Christ. In a Christmas play one night Children knew most all their lines by heart Yet some got such a bad stage fright By the time they had to say their part Still they sang - (chorus) Christmas comes but once a year And we freely tell our friends of Christ It's a time to shed our fear And to share our love and shine the light And let's sing - (chorus) David Davis copyright 2009
