Merlin and the Gnomes have never worked a day in their lives. "Cool 60's Brit influences on this one Interesting sound and songwriting -- sorta psychedelic-era British, maybe The Zombies or even The Animals in there." (GB.com)

We started out in Medieval England and slowly evolved into a lean mean music making machine
Merlin and the Gnometones were a garageband from the sixties. They toured the US playing for small audiences, living day to day. They recorded over 70 songs using what ever equipment they could borrow. Recently, a tape was discovered with 30 of their original recordings. (Ironically in a garage sale) They have been digitally remastered and posted here for your enjoyment. Seriously, I am a non-performing songwriter just trying to get his music out to people who may enjoy it. Most of it falls into the classic rock genre, but there is a little bit of everything here. Thanks to anyone who takes the time to listen.

Story behind the song
Its not really blues. Only the title is. Or is it?
Lyrics
Factory Blues Seven in the morning You got to work on time Now you'll stand for nine long hours At the assembly line. Chorus What can you do boy What can you do You've got those factory blues. How can you lose boy How can you lose Those damn factory blues. The temperature hits ninety You think you'll surely die You ask for just one more break The boss says you have to fry. The harder you work The more money you will make You have to keep pushing Til your back starts to break. What can you do boy What can you do You've got those factory blues. How can you lose boy How can you lose Those damn factory blues. Four o'clock, quitting time You're on the way home You're feeling so tired You hit your bed of foam. How do you feel boy How do you feel You've lost those factory blues What will you do boy What will you do Without those factory blues. You'll get up in the morning And go to work on time Then you'll stand for nine long hours At the assembly line. What can you do boy What can you do You've got those factory blues. How can you lose boy How can you lose Those damn factory blues.
