Mostly 12 string guitar and vocals. A longtime folk singer performing the act that's kept him out of the bigtime for years.
I began my musical career in the 70's, playing trumpet and guitar, and singing. This site contains mostly that act, which has kept me out of the big time all these years. I played full-time professionally for eight years, until I realized I preferred my meals .... you know, .... daily.

Peaceful Thanksgiving Day Words by Ken a018Scratcha019 Smith 11/26/09 Music by Mark Hermann 12/13/09 1. He stands all alone on Thanksgiving; Guards his post in the American Way No Family or friends here surround him; But he gives thanks to God anyway He appreciates home and his country; Although miles keep them so far away He stands all alone this November; Hea019d have it no other way 2. In his mind hea019s aware there are others; Who wona019t fight for the freedom to live The abundance of life they are blessed with; And take all that others might give He includes them in prayers that he offers; For their safety and rights that they may Keep the freedoms & gifts theya019re provided; On a Peaceful Thanksgiving Day 3. He gazes at stars in the heavens; While his family seeks grace as they pray He seldom speaks words in these ranges; Where the fears & the mountain slopes stay Then gunfire erupts in the valley; And tracers turn darkness to light Upward the enemy races; Their masses intent on the fight 4. Calmly he faces their fury; His aim tried and true as before A hero outnumbered fights bravely; 9-11a019s Afghanistan wara026 5. Solo interlude (First half of one verse) (2nd half of last verse) They brought him home to his Texas; Now relieved of the battlefield fray Flowers placed on the marker above him; Falling leaves find the ground where he lay On a Peaceful Thanksgiving Day. ____________ Scratch sends
