I am a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a degree in music composition. This goes without saying but I love music (listening, composing, studying, performing).
This is a sketch of a concert band piece I began composing in 2006. I never had finished it, but got a substantial amount of work completed. Originally it began in a stereotypically peppy mood but things changed as I kept composing, becoming much darker near the halfway point. This revision (as of 2007) actually follows some of my changes in composition style from earlier to later years (freshman in college to a sophomore): I went from using standard "block" orchestration and tried experimenting with different colors (but it is still relatively conservative). Also I was not as afraid of experimenting with different harmonies.
