Story behind the song
Three songs came together and were written around the same time in 2003 which were originally called #1, #2, and #3. #1 kept it's original title while #2 didn't ever officially develop into a Kelvin song (it ended up just being a jam) and #3 ended up being called "Jesus and a Glass of Champagne." #1 was one of Kelvin's proudest moments.
Lyrics
Lyrics: [by Jay Melder]
There's a clear sky color about you, call it bedroom blue
Oh the light of your face, the scent of this place
I wish it was my color too
And there's a great stream chasing behind you
Living after you
And the pass is not real, and nothing you feel
Ever did anything for you
Oh you, yeah you
[Chorus]
And loving you, loving you is the best thing I'm doing
Oh there ain't much to it, ain't nothing but being alone
Haunted you, haunted you claim that it's freezing
The only one cold 'round here is you
The only one cold 'round here is you
As the sweet sound echo surrounds you
It rustles in my ear
But it so sounds too low, the words after you
Tell me what else should I hear
There's a red carpet rolling beneath you
To catch you when you fall
If you asked us all, we would've made you crawl
To your home and forget you
Forget you, oh you
[Chorus]
And loving you, loving you is the best thing I'm doing
Oh there ain't much to it, ain't nothing but being alone
Haunted you, haunted you claim that you're sleeping
The only one dreamin' 'round here is you
The only one dreamin' 'round here is
Yeah you, oh you, oh you
Yeah, I could tell by the look on her face
That the words that I said were out of place, the sky aligned
Everyone knows that I could constantly cross the lines
But she was a screamin', I was a dreamin'
Everything I had poured inside
My hands were trusted
Everyone mustered and I didn't know the power I was
Mustered my bow, never did go
I gave it with gusto and into the row
And we saw the demon
Everyone knew and the balls in their eyes were suddenly gleaming away
Gleaming away
Gleaming away
Yeah, there's a clear sky color about you
Yeah and I named it bedroom blue
Oh, the stale of your face, the pale of this place
I wish it was my color too, color too, color too
[Chorus]
And loving you, loving you is the best thing I'm doing
No there ain't much to it, ain't nothing but being alone
Haunted you, haunted you claim that I'm bleeding
The only one dead 'round here is you
The only one dead 'round here is you
