Story behind the song
When I graduated college, our university, Ateneo de Manila, asked us to cover one of the school cheers for an Ateneo album. We were asked to cover "Blue Eagle Spelling." Deciding that we didn't want to do just a straight-up cover, we then tried to capture the essence of the cheer but turn it into a funk song. We also experimented adding a hiphop element to it, so we invited our DJ friend to jam with us. We liked the song so much that it has been our intro song during every gig, but we changed the lyrics to make it less school-oriented.
