Story behind the song
The song started life as a poem by Deb Hill called the great American Cowboy, she did the poem at the annual Cowboy Gathering at the 2001 Stock Show, and I suggested that it would make a good song, she asked me to adapt it, and I did, the song is now used as the theme for the TV show Love of the West
