Delightful acoustic guitar and vocal song about the plight of the wild mustangs in Americ today.
canfield acoustic guitar
Clay is one of the last real troubadors - amazing guitar, vocal and songs.
Although Clay does have a band, he has firmly established himself as an exceptional solo artist. His first two CDs feature acoustic guitar, vocals and harmonica. The music ranges from cowboy ballads to traditional country to "smoking" blues. Clay has just released a limited edition EP which features 4 songs with his band.

Story behind the song
We wrote this song in 1993. My fans loved it when I started performing it but I started getting death threats so I stopped performing it. I did send cassettes to all of the wild horse associations I could find. In 2008 a woman contacted me from California who had found the cassette in a file drawer she was cleaning out. She sent me a copy so I could re-learn the song. I cut a demo of the song so I would not forget it again. In 2009 this demo found its way to Willie Nelson and he sent it on to the Animal Welfare Institute in Washington DC. I have made it available (worldwide) as a digital download through all of the usual outlets. The WI has endorsed this song and a portion of every download will go to them to help save these horses. I believe that wild horses are an endangered symbol of the Americsan spirit. Let's help them.
