Songwriter, home recordist, and occassional performer. I write songs intended primarily for bikers who have either found Jesus or need to. For those that see
I've been a songwriter from the moment I picked up my first guitar. Over the years I've developed some skills on the keyboard as well which I use extensively in my home recording studio. I see myself more as a songwriter and session recorder than performer, though I do occassionally perform. Although I've written conventional and traditional material for most of my life, I gave up on it several years ago, primarily because there was nothing I found inspiring. Then I let Jesus come into my life and the inspiration began flowing like a river once again. I believe this is because God has a new mission for me, and that is to reach out and minister, through my music, to those in dire need of his saving grace. My audience is more likely to have tatoos and a motorcycle than a nice haircut and a minivan. This is for the folks who felt life rejected them from the beginning, so they have rejected life...but in doing so, they rejected the only thing in life that could save them from their misery. As one of the pastors from North Carolina's Freedom Riders stated to me, you can't ride free if you don't know what real freedom is, and only Jesus can give you that kind of freedom. I don't think you have to own a bike to have a biker mindset and to relate to this music. This music is for anyone who has felt beaten by life. Those who have tried all the worldly avenues to try and fill the hole in their hearts, but have found nothing but more misery and pain. For the hopeless in search of hope. And for those that have found Jesus and desperately hold onto that precious gift because they know, better than anyone else, how miserable life can be without it.

Story behind the song
This is something I've wanted to write for a while, but I could never find the right thing I wanted to say about my father. It finally occurred to me that what I admired about him most was his firm conviction and service to God for his entire life. And although he was never anyone particularly famous, it's people like him that are the greatest of the greatest generation. They give us all hope that we can be better.
Lyrics
City of Hope © 2010 Dave George It started off as a young man, when he learned the things he should know. About the kind of life that good men live and the path that he wanted to go. So he made a firm commitment before he headed off to war. It was a different day and a different time when people knew what they were fighting for. So often young men falter, when theya019re far away from home. But he held onto the truths he knew so hea019d never feel alone. a018Cuz in the city of hope, is where hea019s hidden his treasures. In the city of hope, is where his riches abound. In a world so full of distractions his eyes are firmly set on the prize. A place hea019s never seen but he truly believes and imagines Every night when he closes his eyes. He finds himself a good woman, and he takes her for his wife. And he promises to take care of her and love her every day of his life. Together theya019ll have a family, and theya019ll raise them to be strong. And he leads the way by the life he lives to help them learn whata019s right from wrong. While other men might prosper due to selfishness and greed, He concerns himself with the important things to give them all theya019ll ever need. a018Cuz in the city of hope, is where hea019s hidden his treasures. In the city of hope, is where his riches abound. In a world so full of distractions his eyes are firmly set on the prize. A place hea019s never seen but he truly believes and imagines Every night when he closes his eyes. The years have passed by quickly, and now his bodya019s so infirmed But he reflects upon the life hea019s lived and his convictions are confirmed. Surrounded by his family, as they gather a018round his bed. Filled with sorrow that he will soon be gone, but grateful for the life hea019s lead. He knows that they will miss him, but they will meet again one day. And he thanks the Lord for all hea019s done as he slowly slips away. To the city of hope, where hea019s hidden his treasures. To the city of hope, where his riches abound. In a world so full of distractions his eyes were always set on the prize. And now he finally sees what hea019s always believed and imagined As he finally closes his eyes.
