Lyrics
VERSE 1: Well, I got up the other day and And then my laptop beeped Seems that someone had something to say When I was fast asleep So I checked out my outlook that day And it kinda hurt my head There was a missive from a mister on the listserv, And this is what it said Hey, that Haiti, donaa‚¬a„¢t waste your bread He said invest in the best, not these walking dead VERSE 2: I thought, aa‚¬Å“Iaa‚¬a„¢m not aa‚¬Å“investingaa‚¬i³Œ; Iaa‚¬a„¢m just trying to help.aa‚¬i³Œ Somebody other than my own damn self I mean I know this guy and I know heaa‚¬a„¢s cool but I am reminded of that Golden Rule I tucked it discretely underneath my belt And I let it go by without a single yelp Just another marker on the road to hell Another brother pissing in the well, so I didnaa‚¬a„¢t hate him, or waste my time Trying to debate him, with that kind of mind VERSE 3: And then a few Winter days ensued And it snowed about four feet I couldnaa‚¬a„¢t get out and run my miles Which tends to dissipate my heat The mood was blue and the shoes were glued When I shoveled out my walk So I thought Iaa‚¬a„¢d give a whirl to the online world For a spot of good old talk So I took out my inbox, and tell me what did I see? aa‚¬Å“I feel so sorry for those poor guys at AIG.aa‚¬i³Œ VERSE 4: What a bummer aa‚¬a€œ I just shook my head And felt a wave of premature regret aa‚¬ËœCause Iaa‚¬a„¢ll miss these people whom I thought I knew But we ainaa‚¬a„¢t gonna goaa‚¬a„¢ fishing like we said weaa‚¬a„¢d do. So, I opened up a window just to clear the air If you catch my drift, I had a draft to prepare On the decline and fall of some good old friends In my rear view mirror going aa‚¬Ëœround the bend I hate to write it but it seems like a trend And they ainaa‚¬a„¢t gonna like it if I push send VERSE 5: So I carefully constructed a detailed essay That explicitly outlined in a rational way Why only an asshole would have those things to say And how tragic it was to see them this way A free expression of my disgust At such an ethical wanderlust It went on and on for a page or two I read it over, what should I do? Well, for the moment I let it go by I kept it handy, though, but I did not reply VERSE 6: That seemed to work another day or two Until another message came and made me blue aa‚¬Å“You canaa‚¬a„¢t blame a good businessman For moving all the jobs out of his own land.aa‚¬i³Œ Though the very people that he left in debt Were the only ones who made the wealth HE kept I felt the straw on my camelaa‚¬a„¢s back So I got my slingshot and I pulled it back It was automatic, and that was the end I let aa‚¬Ëœem have it, and I pushed send VERSE 7: My momma said aa‚¬Å“Your mouthaa‚¬a„¢ll hang you yet, sonaa‚¬i³Œ And that was back before the internets, hon Well, some people say Iaa‚¬a„¢ve got a poison pen And now and then I donaa‚¬a„¢t know when to say aa‚¬Å“whenaa‚¬i³Œ But poppin' on here and keep talking that trash Sooner or later, man, the die is cast It ainaa‚¬a„¢t pretty, and itaa‚¬a„¢s partisan, but The truth is followed by the consequence So fare thee well, until we meet again Goodbye my friends, I pushed aa‚¬Å“sendaa‚¬i³Œ //Repeat aa‚¬a€œ fade out with random commentary: aa‚¬Å“Yeah, I pushed sendaa‚¬i³Œ aa‚¬Å“Again and againaa‚¬i³Œ "I think I even replied to allaa‚¬i³Œ, "I might have flagged it as high importance".....etc\\
