The Unhappies are lo-fi indie geek rock.
We are the same people that are in another band, The Happies. This is our experimental/lo-fi outlet where the songs are a little more raw. Most of us lived in Northern New Jersey at some point, but we now live around the country (New York, Salt Lake City, Chicago, . . .). We each record indivdually and together when we can. We experiment with a wide variety of sounds, but most is lo-fi indie/alternative with a decent amount of folk thrown in. We want our music to be free to the masses (although the mass of people that actually wants our music is rather small at the moment), so download it, burn your own cds, share it with your friends, use it as background music for that school project you're working on--whatever. If you like The Unhappies, click for music by The Happies. Free downloads of some old Unhappies music that mostly pre-dates Pop My Zit, is available .

Lyrics
1817 Napolean lost at Waterloo on that day But you gotta wonder what he was doing hangin' around Iowa anyway And I'll say couldn't be, all these things well they're foolin' me It could be my fault, but I don't think it's right Keep the truth locked up tight 1849 Some people found gold in the California hills But you gotta wonder if this interrupted all their diggin' for dollar bills 1884 Alex Bell invented the telephone But you gotta wonder how he new the number and that he should wait for a dial tone 1903 the Wright brothers flew for 12 seconds down in Kitty Hawk But you gotta wonder wouldn't have been less expensive and easier to scrap the plane and walk 1917 they took the last Czar and they shot him in the head But you gotta wonder if he was the last one wouldn't he suspect that one day he'd wind up dead 1937 Hindenberg crashed on the Jersey shore But you gotta wonder why he wasn't resident of Germany anymore 1969 a man walked on the moon so bright But you gotta wonder how he was really sure it was going to be full that night 1974 Nixon apologized and said that he was wrong But you gotta wonder why he didn't say the same thing to the Viet-cong 1997 you told me you were all out of love But you gotta wonder how this could happen when you were the one I was thinking of
