Story behind the song
"The Lie" deals with the realization that some relationships can't work without unhealthy sacrifice. It is purposefully written to be open to some interpretation but the core meaning is that to stay in this kind of scenario would mean the end of you as the person you know, a change that is so great that it would be impossible to manifest.
