"Across The Sea" is one of my favorite songs for lyrics from my new album "The Source". The 1st section of the song alternates between 3/4 & 5/4 time signatures. I used cuatro on the 1st section also.

The cuatro is a 10 string (5 sets of 2 strings) instrument similar to the guitar from Puerto Rico. I had a student who plays the cuatro. He lent me an electric cuatro that a friend had made for him. The cuatro inspired the beginning of "Across The Sea". From there, I wrote the rest of it on the guitar.
The lyrics are about finding love. I use sailing and ships to represent the search for someone to love. I hope that you will enjoy it.
Lyrics
Sometimes I wish
That I could
Sail across the sea
Find a way
To get away
From reality
I would watch
The stars as
Waves crashed down on me
And search for
Lighted shores to
Harbor my safety
I know
I can?t escape
But someday
I?ll find my way
Lights fall
Down from dusk
Polaris I see
Poised in the northern sky
My compass
To guide me
I know I?ll find a way
In this lonely world
And if you believe in me
You could be my girl
Together we will sail the world
Just you and I
Sometimes I wish
That I could
Sail across the sea
Find a way
To get away
From reality
I would watch
The stars as
Waves crashed down on me
And search for
Lighted shores to
Harbor my safety
I know
I can?t escape
But someday
I?ll find my way
Lights fall
Down from dusk
Polaris I see
Poised in the northern sky
My compass
To guide me
Across The Sea
