Soloist. Songwriter/singer. ASCAP member. A NICE WITNESS FOR CHRIST There is an extensive interview of me done by Scott Crawford, at . Do not let the site name alarm you. It is an "adult-themed music and entertainment" site. It is not a porn site, and you will not get tagged for spam if you go there. Scott is a journalist of integrity, who asked pertinent and penetrating questions, then printed my answers verbatim. Both God and His son received much attention in the interview. REVIEWS: "Fancy keyboard playing is the backdrop for this positive and upbeat collection. Hackley's vocals are reminiscent of Burl Ives." Review by Brent Castillo, The Wichita Eagle, March 5, 2005. "world's wimpiest Christian rocker". Brother Russell Podcast; : INFLUENCES (a very lengthy list, ending with...) "and of course, Richard Hackley." "Yet the songs on the Worst of the Worst can be compelling in their awfulness. Songs like Richard Hackley's rabble-rousing, hackles-raising spiritual God's Backhand ("We're not talking about tennis or Ping-Pong!") "; "Richard Hackley... HUGE musical influence. And a real bad mofo live.";

Story behind the song
Some doubts can be especially nasty because they can be based on such great worldly logic. Yet, they still contradict what God says.
Lyrics
(c) 1996 Richard C. Hackley Wichita, Ks. 67208 (v/c 1) Doubts are nasty critters. They slip in so silently. They sound like good logic while they rob us of victory. We all want to do good and run a good race, But doubts try to keep us stuck in one place. (v/c2) When Jesus told his disciples, "One of you will betray me," Their self-doubts all surfaced, "Is it I, Lord? Is it me?" They were all afraid of their own human frailty. The questioned themselves far too easily. (v/c3) Doubting our ability to stay faithful and true Is something God understands but still cannot use. God needs believers who won't listen to doubt, Who'll trust in his promises however things turnout. (bridge) Confidence and courage commitment and vision, Keep doubts from stalling us and our mission. (v/c4) God designed our thinker to hold a steady thought, To see it to completion to overcome any doubt. God gave us permission to fellowship with Him, To think only pure thoughts letting nothing else slip in. (bridge)
