For over 40 years I played lead guitar and did back-up vocals in various country bands. It has been one of the greatest thrills of my life. But, these days I stay at home and compose songs, both lyrics and music. My writing style is much broader than just country music. I also write southern rock, a little blues, lots of smooth jazz and movie themes and even some latin music. I have been writing for about 20 years and hope to for quite a few more years.

Story behind the song
Trying to figure out who gets what after a break-up. A little past experience going into this one!
Lyrics
Yours And Mine V1 You used to have yours, and I used to have mine We tied the knot, made it ours at that time His and hers was almost a crime It was all ours and we were just fine CHORUS The knot came undone and it all hit the fan You said I’m leaving just as fast as I can It’s all getting blurry after five-dollar wine Sitting on the couch just flipping a dime Trying to decide what’s yours and what’s mine V2 The sun’s beating down, and I’m wiping my brow Trying to decide but I don’t know how The stuff that we bought, when things were fine Which part is yours and which part is mine V3 You said send your stuff, you’d let me know where Before you disappeared right into thin air Dividing us up, setting us apart Is messing with my mind and shredding my heart CHORUS The knot came undone and it all hit the fan You said I’m leaving honey just as fast as I can It’s all getting blurry after five-dollar wine Sitting on the couch and flipping a dime Trying to decide what’s yours and what’s mine BRIDGE Since you’ve been gone it’s just not the same I liked it back when you were using my name Now you’re gone, I’m here all alone Left with the task of dividing our home CHORUS The knot came undone and it all hit the fan You said I’m leaving honey just as fast as I can It’s all getting blurry after five-dollar wine Sitting on the couch and flipping a dime Trying to decide what’s yours and what’s mine (c) 2010 Alan D.
