RETRO pop songs --- from another millennium and another galaxy.
My name's Pete. from Birmingham in UK-land. Nice to meet you ! I made a lot of very varied popsongs in the pre-digital age. I say they're McCartneyish, as I don't know how to categorize them. Allsorts. The description I use is RETRO I'm really a songwriter who wants others to perform these songs. So please bear that in mind as you grimace at my efforts to be acceptable. I'm especially concerned to write good lyrics, and if you do ever give some time to my stuff, I hope you will click to the lyrics and read those also. They don't come easy, you know. I'm plonking my songs here to give them a home, in the hope you might think they're not too bad. In fact, in the hope that you'll snap them up and I'll become an instant overnight megastar multi-millionaire. But failing that, I hope that you just like them. And if you do like one - I'd especially like it if you told me so. We all need strokes, eh ? Cheers ! Pete Songs-in-a-Bottle

Story behind the song
A tune nearly 30 years old. I finally wrote lyrics in 2008, and recorded them in August 2010.
Lyrics
were I to write in poetry exactly what you are to me, I would be searching for perfection I'd find my head and heart demanding every word at my commanding to express what I want to and in my intimate confession every delicate expression would be used to honour you although the last who's qualified, I'd put all shynesses aside to say as best as I am able the open gratitude I owe you that I far too seldom show you in the things I say and do you have provided life's foundation and therein its consecration - my relationship with you as if Fortune ordained it, as if Gods had it willed my loneliness took flight the moment I met you, and my life was fulfilled it's a blessing unmeasured and a miracle true just to experience the wonderment of life on the pathway with you I affirm that I love you ever more with each year the vows and promises I undertook to you are still sacred and dear when the years are behind us, when they come near their end I'll be contented to have spent them all with you as my partner and friend
