This is the epic from the album. It's got a bunch of different parts and a tremendous dissonance between the stripped feel of the verses and the layered feel of the other parts.
pop rock acoustic blues melody moody

Eclectic, but mostly acoustic. Mostly moody, guitar-driven, alternative pop-rock
Let's face it folks. I'm not going to be updating this much. My primary focus right now is my band Djatmaterra, and I won't be recording much new for my own site. However, you can find our songs at and These sources will likely be updated quite a bit more often. Thanks for listening! --- I'll try to keep the mix of tracks on here eclectic. I've dabbled in a bunch of different styles over the years, and i think my songwriting reflects that. So here are a bunch of tracks written and recorded at various times in my music carreer. Enjoy.

Story behind the song
One day I was fooling around with the main guitar lick from the song, and the rest of the verse part including the melody just sort of wrote itself. The other parts came later, in various iterations. The "march" section in the middle was a contribution of my buddy Ben Mullen. Lyrically, the closest thing I can come to a point is thinking about what you do before you do it, and taking responsibility for your actions (I mean that in the least preachy way possible). But for me there are a lot of somewhat inexplicable undertones to it and it's not really about anything concrete. Tell me what it means to you.
Lyrics
lend me your fingers i've no use of mine enter you dreamer drain your wicked spine now who's the owner of that top hat frown enter you soldier don't you follow down waste not a warning or a shadow's name enter now running breaking down again paw soaked in honey you've yourself to blame
