Chuck Puckett's music is eclectic, acoustic, improvisational and somewhat improbable. But it's also interesting and pretty cool to listen to.
I'm Chuck Puckett, and I hail from Decatur, Alabama. I've been a songwriter for way too many years, andI also write plays (musicals and straight plays). Most SoundClick material has been done solo, but I also in an eclectic string band called , and we do many of the songs I've written.

Story behind the song
The first line ("Sometimes we don't know where we're going") and a guitar riff (somewhat eclipsed in this version) were the genesis. It may never be understood until we are dead.
Lyrics
Sometimes you don't know where you're going Sometimes you don't know where you've been At times the boat just ain't worth rowing Sometimes you can't even get in [chorus] It's all in the blood It's not in the head It may never be understood Until you are dead Jack Legge, he don't sing the reasons Jack Legge, he don't see the light Back off, he don't care if he's pleasing you Come back, he wants to make it right Brown Eyes, she is filled with laughter Brown Eyes, she's a solid wall No one knows what she is after No one seems to care at all Sometimes, we don't know what we're saying Most times, we don't say a thing At times there ain't no use in praying The blood is the conscience of the king [last chorus] It's all in the blood And it's all in the drive It may never be understood But it's good to be alive © 1992 Chuck Puckett
