A song referring at how hard it is when you first move away from home. You tend to learn really fast that money doesn't grow on trees.
The Other Side Of Lonesome band was originated in 2010 after recording my first album. Each of us have played for many years with various bands. As I recorded my album, I called upon these guys to give me a hand with it. It turned out that we enjoyed it so much, we wanted to keep it going. The band consists of Roy Rogers on lead guitar and synthesizer, Wayne Morton on steel guitar, Benny Kubiak on fiddles, David McKnight on drums, and myself on bass and lead vocals.

Story behind the song
This was the first song I had ever wrote. I wrote this song while I was away at college. It was the first time I had really been away from home for a long period of time. Trying to make it on your own in 1979 was no fun.
