Story behind the song
This is a re-work of a track I first created about 5 years ago. It is a tribute to Ultravox, one of my favourite bands, and uses a number of FL plug-ins that I dont normally use - Slayer 2 for the guitar parts and Odsay, a free Arp Odyssey emulator that I found whilst searching the net. For those who know Ultravox, they had a very distinct keyboard solo sound, typical of the music of the late 70's and early 80's. Bily Currie of Ultravox was one of the earliest mainstream muscian to use the screaming Arp Odyssey, as well as artists such as Gary Numan. Although it had been a round for a number of years (mainly used by prog rockers such as Tony Banks of Genesis) it was the New Romantic sound that really brought the Odyssey to the fore. I have been trying to find a plug-in that recreates the sound, and as far as free ones go, the Odsay is pretty good.
