Story behind the song
The Far right like always drives the car. Whether into the ditch or not doesnt matter. They always drive the car.
Lyrics
Puppets and robots And Fine Fancy strings Maids all in waiting Princess and kings. Now the fats in the fire And the cards are all stacked The best cant go forward, while the lost they go back The King of all hope broken by the nose and the rules, And the Land of the Free now driven by fools. The Newts in the oven (fire) And A Rush short of breathe And the Ice Witch shes coming With a war chest of death Oh the Smokes on the water and the moneys left the jar The cats in the meadow and the sheeps in the yard The Fox runs the hounds up and down the hill And the chime of Freedom lie silent and still Puppets and robots And Fine Fnacy things Maids all in waiting Princess and kings. The Newts in the fire A Rush full of breathe And the Ice Witch shes coming with a war chest of death.

Hi Roger... I thought I'd pay another visit to your page. I really like the lyrics on this one...it is so sad to see America being stolen from us...by a few greedy people who actually think they are better than the rest of us. It's even sadder to see how many people cheer them on...like sheep being led to their own slaughter. I don't recognize this country as the place I grew up in, anymore. You did a great job with the lyrics...making this point. In the end...it is always the few brave artists that light the way for the rest to follow. Thanks for the tunes. Hugs...Mike (NAV)

Hey Roger! I have listened to Puppets & Robots twice now and really enjoy your wisdom in lyrics. That back up melody brings it all together for another enjoyable tune. Have yourself a musical week-end! J.D.

A scathing yet accurate and powerful dose of reality. Superior songwriting, would love to hear it in it's entirety if the current ending was unintentional, a wonderful signature presentation, yet another new classic, wow!

Hi Roger, This kind of explains the people who live in a fantasy world who do their own thing.Very deep lyrics once again! They don't go by rhyme or rule! Good words and very thought provoking! God Bless, Heleana Maria

An amazingly song. Reminds me of Cat Steven’s great music. Particularly like the title and chorus. Very find song writing. But, hey, you are an exceptional songwriter/poet and we at SC always enjoy your work.

In agreement with all the others. Powerful song! Powerful Lyrics! I guess it is a shortened version. Evan Paul said it best.

Roger, this is another great song, I would like to hear the lyrics and vocal cleaner like the second song which I listened to first, don't need no doubletracking or sudden end cut off, so production, I think can be improved by a very simple adjustment. This is just my opinion and if you change it let me know would like to hear it again revised. Aside from that, another excellent song where the lyrics always shine above us all.

Great message in these lyrics and I agree with others that it got cut off & too good not to hear it all! Music is the universal language!

Great writing here Rodger...and i like the musical arrangement. The reviewer above was right...your tune is cut off. Better re-upload...it's too good not to be complete. Keep shining your lyrical light and keep the Chimes of Freedom flashing! Good one!

Hey RJ, Dude, I love the new one "Puppets and Robots"....it has a minstrel or fairytale quality about the phrasing of the lyrics and the melody.....absolutely perfect for the subject material....Excellent!!!!! I note you refer back to an old Dylan tune "The Chimes of Freedom" harkening back to days of hope and relate it to today's situation and how it now stands as if laying in waiting for hope to arise....well played!!!!! Your vocals are always rich and inviting to the ear and your progression as a writer, is flourishing.....keep on keeping on, my friend. I note only one problem, technical in nature and unrelated to the recording itself, and that's that the player is chopping off near the end. I don't know whether it's the player itself or that the uploading did not quite complete. I've noticed that it just stops dead and does not return the slider to the beginning. I thought you might want to know as it might take another upload to correct. One more fantastic track that you added
