Comedy. One of the best jokes I ever heard set to a Scottish march.
My "band" is a Macintosh Computer with a sequencer and instrument module (software) and a recording simulator called deck. But it is amazing what can be done with these things!
Story behind the song
I liked the joke so I made it into a song!
Lyrics
Now I been playing the bag pipes since I was just a lad,
At weddings, wakes and big parades all dressed in Scottish plaid.
So when they asked me if I would pipe at the grave of a homeless man
I said, "Yes I will and I'm proud to play!
"Yes I will and I'm proud to play!
I'll send him packin' heavens way the very best that I can!"
But O, alas! The grave was in the deep and tangled wood.
I tried and tried to find the place, but do you think I could?
I got there late! The hearse was gone! The vault was in the hole!
"But still," I thought, "I can play my song! Yes! I still can play my song!
Amazing grace, I played loud and strong, with all my heart and soul!"
The digging crew had come back from lunch; they all had heard me play.
They were deeply moved and their vurly foreman slowly came my way.
"As sure as I live," he thundered as he wiped away his tears,
"I've not seen nothin' like that before!"
"Not seen nothin' like that before,
And I put in septic tanks for more that forty weary years!
Now I been playing the bag pipes since I was just a lad,
At weddings, wakes and big parades all dressed in Scottish plaid.
But in my deepest, wildest dreams I never woulda guessed
That some day I would pipe a tune,
Some day I would pipe a tune
Where breakfast, lunch and dinner soon would all be laid to rest!
