Moments of driving guitar, moments of intricate rhythm, intelligent songs with a twist.
It's been a long time, but keep an eye open for 6 new tracks coming soon! And so, on with the blurb... Raised in the musical school of hard knocks that is the Newcastle upon Tyne “gig scene”, Columbus Dixon’s characteristic driving guitar sound works around an intricate, yet massive-sounding rhythm section. Musically, edgy and powerful, the songs are based on a strong, melodic approach. Lyrically insightful, fiercely independant, Columbus Dixon are an alternative to the current British fixation with mindless, shrink-wrapped, pre-packed, McPop cover merchants and whiney Nu-Angst pretenders. Live, Columbus Dixon are an intriguing and captivating experience, who pull no punches with a potent yet amiable presence. We don’t claim to be the saviours of the universe but we could save you from the Top 40. We make the music we like, and we do it well. We are a bunch of nice blokes, but we are good, though. We don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we are good. Is it sinking in? Good blokes, good music.

Story behind the song
The Newcastle live music scene isn't exactly thriving, and it's difficult getting people motivated to attend gigs. The song basically vents the frustrations of an uphill struggle to achieve the band's goal.
Lyrics
A falling through time A wave to defy Have an effect But you’re smaller inside No room to decide What comes next It’s ticking like a Time recording messenger of late I don’t think that it pains me Except when I wallow in The creature you are Evolving and smart That’s the idea But your bovine embrace Submission of face I’m getting off here It’s beating like a Vascular and cranial event I don’t think it affects me Unless I stop for it Ubiquitous frustration Will turn to something else I’m bored of chasing nothings My stubbornness no end This pond is just a puddle More calls for oxygen Conclusions to draw It’s near and far It doesn’t reflect A fist in the eye To darlings of time It’s down to business He’s running like a Grabbing greedy carrion seeker Won’t shake myself to please him It’s more than a Sideline here Eat it, feed it, be it.
