Words, music, art, life. Let's change the world.

Multi-genre artist, singer/songwriter, poet, lyricist.

Writing and music have always been my sanctuary, my healing stone and my secret garden. That will never change. If my music or words touch you, then I feel deeply moved.

I wish I could say that I was the love child of Zed Zeplin and Amy Lee but the truth is that I'm no one special. I'm just a girl born in Louisiana, who traveled the world always trying to find her place but never really could until I found Paul or until love found me.

For 20 years, everyone knew me as Vryl. I am still and always be Vryl. Vryl was born from Vryl Valkyrie, a virtual woman in Second Life, my alter ego, a place of refuge and artistic expression and from that place I wrote poetry and composed music.

I will always be Vryl. But after Paul died, I needed a rebirth.

For 2 years I was TimeSpoken, but felt that was part of my transition that led me back to Norwrei, my LOTRO gaming and poetic name that I used for 20 years.

I spent 20 years creating 3D content in virtual worlds such as Worlds and Second Life as Vryl Valkyrie. I worked with Tom Marlin from Marlin Studios (my avatar name Vryl Valkyrie is in the inventory of every user in Second Life in a texture folder called Marlin Studios Textures) and did a few virtual music projects with Thom Kidrin of Worlds. I also worked as a quest writer and events writer for LOTRO during beta and launch (20062007).

I coined the phrase Vortex of the Matrix in 2006 (https://forums-archive.secondlife.com/309/67/121983/1.html) just scroll down until you see Vryl Valkyrie, which I later released as a song.

Between the spaces and lapse of time, I lived life or life lived me and all the mundane things that come from human existence. Shattered memories, people dying, sadness, sorrow.

Through it all I never stopped writing, believing, dreaming. Despite this thing we call life with all the darkness that the world can throw at us, I would find pockets of light to keep my faith grounded in something more than what the eye can see.

I was critically ill, hospitalized and had to take a long break from music and everything else. I was in the hospital in France for almost 2 years fighting for my life. It was during this time that Paul, the love of my life died, which is what inspired me to write my song Shadows Leave No Traces and Prisoner Trapped In Time.

I was still writing songs while in the hospital and collaborated with other artist online for vocals for 2 of my songs, Evoke and Smokin' The Breeze. Smokin' The Breeze was inspired by nostalgia of wanting to return to my childhood of Louisiana. Going Home inspired by wanting to return to the US.

Every song I write comes from a place of life that I've journeyed.

I'm trying to rebuild my life by returning to my art. Despite being disabled and bedbound, I continue to create. I don't give up on reclaiming the physical aspect of my life, such as walking. But I don't stop living. I don't stop creating. I use the tools that are available.

I also suffer from a pre-cancerous condition of the uterus called atypical hyperplasia. I experience daily pain and bleeding, which is what led me to writing my song Don't Got Time To Die.

I love people and getting to know people. If you want to know me or if you want to collaborate, please feel free to contact me. I'm also open to writing lyrics for your instrumentals.

Due to not being able to sing because of serious health issues, I've recently started using licensed synthetic vocals for some tracks. But the heart and soul of who I am is in everything that I create.

I write all my lyrics, compose melodies and do all the editing, post editing, mastering and video creation. I'm basically a bedroom producer.

There is significant human creative input in everything I do and will always be because I'm always the artist first. It's what I live for or it's what helps to shape who I am.

I am an American woman currently in France, so it may time to get back to you. Thanks for reading my page and listening to my music.

Story behind the song
I got a new set of Yamaha keys. I plugged into Adobe Audition and then "Rain" became, simply became. It was its own entity. The music really just possessed me. It was kind of magical in a way. It was like a super power, having this musical energy shoot through my fingertips. It was like I was one with the music. That's literally how it happened. It's not perfect and I never even tried to repeat it. It's "Rain" because rain is random, always imperfectly perfect. Hope you like it. There are a few bad notes but I left them because I felt it was part of the randomness of rain and the beautiful imperfection that our planet loves so much
